Mexican grocery and general merchandise retailer La Comer opened its first store in the southeastern state of Quintana Roo via investment of approximately US$61 million, the company reported.  The new sales location becomes the first in the state for La Comer and the company's 91st store in Mexico across its various formats. The move represents a challenge to competitor Chedraui, traditionally a regional grocery and general merchandise leader in Mexico's southeast. Read more (in Spanish) at Just Retail Latam.
