Canadian discount retail operator PesoRama announced the inauguration of two new sales locations in Mexico under its JOi Dollar Plus brand, bringing its total number of stores in the country to 35. Colombian pet products retailer Laika plans to enter the Mexican market this year via a hybrid model that includes a projected 10 physical stores, the company reported.  This will be the company's second attempt at a Mexico presence, following an unsuccessful on-line launch in 2020.  Read more at Just Retail Latam (in Spanish).

Leading Mexican department store chain Grupo Coppel reported plans to invest approximately US$825 million in 2026.  The program is expected to include the establishment of 80 new sales locations, remodeling of up to 100 existing stores and distribution centers and upgrades to operational technology and sustainable energy programs.
